A new multi-sensory experience at Shedd's outdoor spaces.I am currently leading a interdisciplinary team of around 40 students as Project Manager to create a design proposal for Shedd Aquarium's outdoor garden and lawn spaces. This is a seven month-long design project that will end in January 2022. As part of an effort to gain experience working on a design project with a real-life client, I led my university's Theme Park Engineering & Design Group to work closely with the Shedd Aquarium design team for this extensive project.
The design comprises six different areas: Nature Play, Outdoor Dining, Learning Garden, Event Spaces, Animal Interaction, and Front Stairs. I managed and organized the six different sub-teams, and liaised with various personnel from a variety of departments at the Shedd Aquarium. |

Proposed DesignOur proposed design, DIVE (Discover. Inquire. Venture. Encounter) into Lake Michigan, immerses guests in the wonders of Chicago's best backyard - the shores of Lake Michigan. This concept activates the vacant plot of land north of the aquarium by allowing visitors to embark on a multi-sensory experience.
To the left are some concepts and renderings created by the various sub-teams. More details and updates coming soon! |
